In the summer of 2014, right after Rocky and I went on our first date, I read a quote that said, “One day, someone will walk into your life and make you see why it never worked out with anyone else.” Both of us had been in long term relationships in the past, but nothing ever felt like the “right fit.” We were both very happy independently, and we knew exactly what we wanted out of life. One of those things we wanted was a partner—someone who we could be ourselves with, who would bring us peace and happiness, and who we would want to experience all of life’s ups and downs with.
I remember the overwhelming feeling when we started dating that there was something different here. It was like we had known each other for years, even though we just met. I can’t really explain it, but we just knew that we were meant to be with each other. They say when you know, you know; I guess, in this case, the cliché is true!
When we got engaged a few years later, Rocky and I immediately knew that we wanted to elope to Italy. Neither of us had traveled to Italy before, but we felt this urge to get married there. There was something about the Italian culture, the scenic views throughout the country, and the delicious cuisine that really attracted us! We started researching beautiful places to get married, and we stumbled upon the island of Capri. We decided to get married on the same day we met, exactly five years later, to commemorate how we instantly knew that day that we were supposed to spend our lives together.
Working with our elopement planners, Capri Moments, we discussed and planned all of our wedding details via email. Through their Instagram page, one photographer captured our attention with his naturally beautiful images—Paolo Ceritano. Paolo was incredibly easy to work with in the planning process. He replied to all of our emails and any questions we had quickly (even though we were on different sides of the world), and he even helped connect us with our elopement videographer. On the day of our elopement, almost effortlessly, Paolo captured captivating images with so much emotion and depth; and for that, we are forever grateful.
Our wedding day was intimate, serene, and very smooth—thanks to our wonderful team of vendors. Italy will forever be dear to our hearts, and we hope to return to celebrate a future anniversary!
With lots of love,
Diamari & Rocky
