Positano, located just south of Naples along the Amalfi Coast, is a true jewel to visit and one of the most popular destination for weddings. The first thing you will notice is the breathtaking natural beauty of this part of Italy: high craggy cliffs rise like curtains from the azure sea below.

As a photographer I can never get enough of the Amalfi Coast, this is my favorite part of Italy for weddings, particularly the town of Positano. Even looking at photos, it is hard to believe this legendary luxury destination was once a poor fisherman’s village.
Seen from the sea, Positano is set in a dramatic vertical panorama of colors; the green of the Monti Lattari, the white, pink and yellow of the Mediterranean houses, the silvery grey of its pebble beaches and the blue of the sea. One of the most beautiful views on the Amalfi Coast, extending as far as the island of Capri and the Faraglioni rocks.

Its charming architecture, known as Italian Vernacular and showing Moorish influences with graceful arches and organic forms, makes Positano a unique place in the world. Due to its architecture and rich history, Positano is a Unesco world cultural heritage site. With its typical geometric composition of the houses in white washed stucco, the town gently develops vertically on the cliffs with many narrow, stepped alleys that all flow into the main bay. Seen from the sea, it is pure beauty to admire.
